Switchback/Trail #725 runs for 3 miles between the Jewel Basin Road and the Mount Aeneas Trail #717, right on the edge of the Jewel Basin Hiking Area. It's called "Switchback" because of the 42 switchbacks in its short 3 mile length. This is a beautiful trail deep in the majestic pines... enjoy!
From Bigfork, drive north on 35. Take a right at 83 at the gas station (first stop light outside of town). Take a left onto Foothills road? at the Echo lake cafe/school/gas station corner. Take a right on 5292, and head up the Jewel Basin road (follow the signs for the Jewel Basin). As you're climbing, you will see the bottom of the trail where it hits the road on the right side. Park there.
